Ted Duckworth – President
Ted J. Duckworth is Co-Manager of TDLDC, and President and CEO of Duckworth Realty, Inc. Ted has been the architect of the company’s recent growth into development projects and has provided a vision for the company’s downtown revitalization efforts in Jackson, Mississippi. This vision carries over into the overall company philosophy of making a difference in the community where we live and work. His $16 million renovation of the mixed-use Electric 308 Building in 2005 sparked an interest in downtown development and created an atmosphere of energy in the downtown market.
Ted has coordinated the acquisition of multiple investment properties throughout the southeast totaling over $150 million. The transactions have allowed Duckworth Realty to expand its operations across the region, with projects located in Jackson, Shreveport, Baton Rouge, Mobile, Pensacola, Gulf Breeze and Atlanta.
Ted is a recognized leader of economic development in Metro-Jackson. He has served as Chairman of The Board of Downtown Jackson Partners which manages the Central Business District, and on the Downtown Strategic Plan for the City of Jackson. He currently also serves as President of the Eastover Neighborhood Association.
Breck Hines – Principal
Breck Hines is Partner and Co-Manager of The District Land Development Company, LLC and Concord Capital, LLC, and Principal of Duckworth Realty, Inc. Breck manages the acquisition and development operations, from new project identification and underwriting to negotiations, due diligence, financing and closing, and in partnership with Ted and John Michael, has purchased or developed 1.8 million SF of commercial properties since 2005 with an aggregate value over $300 million. In addition, Breck serves in the asset management role for many of the Company’s properties. As a Broker Associate, Breck also provides leasing and third-party brokerage services to select clients across Mississippi, having represented landlords and tenants in over $250 million of leasing transactions.
Prior to his partnership with Ted in 2005, Breck was an Acquisitions Analyst with Parkway Properties, Inc., an NYSE-traded REIT. During that time, his acquisition team underwrote and closed multiple office property acquisitions in Phoenix, AZ, totaling 580,000 SF and valued at over $85 million. At Parkway, Breck also served as manager/broker of several office and industrial properties in Jackson, MS and New Orleans, LA, including Parkway’s corporate headquarters.
Breck currently serves on the Board of Directors of PriorityOne Bank and the Country Club of Jackson, and has served on the Board of the Mississippi Children’s Home Services and the church council of Christ United Methodist Church. He lives in Jackson with his wife and three children.
John Michael Holtmann – Principal
John Michael Holtmann is a Principal with Duckworth Realty, Inc. where he manages the brokerage and retail divisions of the company. John Michael provides brokerage and development services primarily for retail, office, and investment properties. In this capacity, he has represented a long list of private and institutional clients including: Lone Star Funds, Vowell’s Marketplace, Simon, Health Management Associates (HMA) / Merit Health, Tropical Smoothie Café, Goodwill, American Family Care, Brookshire Grocery Company, Potter and Sims Foods, Associated Wholesale Grocers, CarMax, Merrill Lynch, T-Mobile, CH Robinson and Stericycle. He currently oversees a leasing and sales portfolio totaling approximately 1,700,000 square feet. Costar Group, the leading research firm in the nation for commercial real estate, has recognized John Michael as a Costar “Power Broker,” for eight years. Throughout his real estate career, John Michael has completed over $230 million in real estate transactions.
He is also a Co-Founder and Partner in Concord Capital, LLC an affiliate Real Estate Investment Company. In partnership with Ted and Breck, he has successfully acquired or developed approximately 550,000 square feet of retail properties valued at over $75 million.
John Michael currently serves on the Advisory Board for Origin Bank (Nasdaq: OBNK) and is involved with Jackson Youth For Christ. John Michael and his wife, Brittany, live in Jackson and have three children Mac, Allie and Luke. They are members of Fondren Church.
Mike Weeks, CPA – Controller
Mike joined Duckworth Realty in January 2012 as Controller, in which he oversees all accounting functions for the Company including development, acquisitions, and financial reporting. Michael is responsible for all Human Resource functions including payroll, insurance, and all other benefits.
Prior to joining Duckworth, Michael spent the last 14 years in commercial real estate at Parkway Properties, Inc. (NYSE: PKY), a publicly traded Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT). As a Senior Accounting Manager at Parkway Properties, Michael was primarily responsible for budgeting and forecasting, lease administration, accounting training, and detailed and analytical review and variance analysis for 10+ office properties. While at Parkway, Michael was also exposed to financial accounting for corporate level entities, preparing monthly consolidated financial reporting packages for management, SEC reporting, and cash management.
In 1990, Michael received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Delta State University. Michael is a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of the Mississippi Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
In his free time, Michael enjoys spending time with his family, especially snow skiing vacations in Colorado and Utah. Michael and his wife, Tiffany, have two sons, Michael and Matthew, who are actively involved in service at Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Madison, MS.
